MV "Tiger Ma’anshan" of Tiger Gas completed the first ship-to-ship bunkering of about 500 tons of fuel at sea in the Malaysian anchorage on January 29, 2023. The vessel has a total length of 192.00 meters, a width of 37.60 meters, and a depth of 13.50 meters. It is a 700 tank class ISO tank container dual fuel deck vessel.
There are four vessels in this series, built by Jiangsu New Yangzi Shipbuilding Co., LTD., into the CCS single vessel class, and is the world's largest LNG ISO tank container transport dual-fuel deck vessel at present. TIGER LONGKOU is the first vessel in this series, designed and built to "break inertia and innovate based on demand", creating an important milestone in the LNG transport business model.
Tiger Gas is the first operator among Chinese private enterprises to pioneer the commercial operation model of tank container liquefied natural gas. Specifically, Tiger Gas, a subsidiary of Tiger Clean Energy, will no longer use large dedicated LNG vessels to transport liquefied natural gas, but instead ISO tank containers. This makes it possible to deliver smaller individual packages, creating greater flexibility in the LNG supply chain.
Tiger Gas's business model is based on Amazon's peer-to-peer model of buying, shipping, and distribution. Tiger Gas procures LNG from Petronas, tanks it at Malaysia's LNG port of BintuLu, then ships it to China and distributes it via ISO tank container shipping.
